Read the passage below carefully:
The Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN) was established in Ibadan, Oyo State, on December 4, 1964. It was created as a successor organization to the Nigerian station of the West African Cocoa Research Institute (WACRI), following the dissolution of the inter-territorial research institute in 1962. CRIN was charged with the mandate to conduct research into the improvement of production and utilization of cocoa, as well as four other scheduled crops: cashew, coffee, kola, and tea. To support its national operations, the institute established six substations located across different geopolitical zones in Nigeria, including stations in Owena (Ondo State), Ibeku (Abia State), and Mambilla (Taraba State). Research at CRIN focuses on breeding disease-resistant crop varieties, soil fertility management, and developing value-added products from crop by-products.
