Question

Difficulty: EasyBuses and Coaches

If a road sign for a with-flow bus lane does not display any operational days or hours, the bus lane is in operation 24 hours a day.

Answer: Answer

Answer

True. Where no operating times are shown on a bus lane sign, the lane is in operation 24 hours a day.
According to the Highway Code, a bus lane sign that does not specify days or hours indicates that the bus lane operates 24 hours a day, restricting unauthorised vehicles at all times.

Step-by-Step Solution

1
Inspect the bus lane signage for an operational time plate.
No specific days or time periods are indicated on the sign.
Bus lane signs only display time plates when part-time or specific operational hours apply.
2
Apply Highway Code Rule 141 regarding bus lane operational hours.
The bus lane is active 24 hours a day.
Without specified time restrictions, bus lane regulations are legally in force at all times.
